In recent days amendments to the FiT in Italy come come thick and fast. Italian press agency Agi has reported that pro-solar associations in Italy are contesting the recent proposals to change the FiT, particularly in relation to PV greenhouses.

In 2010, the government revised the FiT to penalise companies building PV plants on greenhouses in order to benefit from the FiT, when in actual fact these greenhouses did not have any agricultural use. In what appears to be an FiT clean-up in Italy, the government is attempting to clamp down on manufacturers using loop holes to beat the system. As reported last week, the Italian government has proposed legislation to limit PV installations on agricultural land.
