JA Solar investing over US$2 billion for 3GW solar cell production base in China’s Anhui Province

In accordance with the strategic cooperation agreement signed by JA Solar Holdings and the Hefei City Government, JA Solar will be constructing a 3GW integrated solar industry production base for the company’s solar cells in Hefei, the capital city of East China’s Anhui, Province.

An investment of US$2.05 billion will go towards the development of the solar cell production base, which upon its completion will have an annual output of US$4.56 billion and a production capacity that is said to surpass JA Solar’s existing total. Fang Peng, CEO of JA Solar, advised that Hefei will be the heart of the company’s expansion over the next three years.
