Major tier-1 PV module manufacturer JA Solar said its modules were deployed on the roof of the Israeli Knesset building.
The 450kW system was officially unveiled on March 29, and covered 4,650 square meters of roof space, making it the largest solar project completed by any national assembly in the world.

Mr. Yuli Edelstein, Knesset Speaker, said, “What is happening before our eyes is a true revolution in energy conservation. It is not just the solar panels; it is a turning point with regards to the environmental awareness revolution that we have been promoting for the past two years.”
Jian Xie, President of JA Solar, added, “This iconic solar project is of great significance in terms of developing clean and renewable energy in the country.”
Israeli distributor Ralco and EPC firm Solargreen supplied and installed 1,500 modules from JA Solar on multiple flat roof sections of the many buildings that make up the Knesset.
The system is expected to provide around 10% of the building's electricity needs.
