Jeannine Sargent to lead Oerlikon Solar

A 20-year veteran of the technology industry, Jeannine Sargent’s experience in engineering circles has led to her appointment as CEO for Oerlikon Solar.  The new position of CEO was created in line with the company’s decision to encompass all solar-related activities under the Oerlikon Solar title. 

Ms. Sargent’s most recent employ was as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Veeco Instruments’ Metrology and Instrumentation business.  She was also head of corporate marketing and business development for the company.  Ms. Sargent was CEO for Voyan Technology from 1997 to 2002, worked in marketing and managerial posts with Gasonics International and Tencor Instruments (now KLA-Tencor).  

She began her career as a device and process integration engineer with Digital Equipment Corporation.  Ms. Sargent, who has authored several technical papers, will be based in Switzerland in this new role, and has a B.Sc. in chemical engineering from Northeastern University in Boston.

Oerlikon Solar is a turnkey thin-film solar equipment manufacturer.
