JinkoSolar is donating modules for an off-grid solar project at a school in Tanzania. The Chinese module manufacturer is partnering with non-profit organisation Power to the People to build the 2.5kW rooftop system that will power lighting and the computer lab at the Nyumba ya Mungu secondary school.
In addition to supplying modules, JinkoSolar is providing volunteers to install the system, and also to help educate the local community about the benefits of solar and the role it can play in Tanzania. JinkoSolar will be joined by volunteers from the US solar industry during installation, which will take place next July.
"Our partnership with the Nyumba ya Mungu secondary school through Power to the People is a prime example of how JinkoSolar combines innovative technology with innovative people to achieve lasting change," Jinko’s chief marketing officer Arturo Herrero said.
