Joachim Nell leaves Manz for SolarEdge

    PV industry veteran, Joachim Nell has joined power optimization specialist SolarEdge Technologies as its Central European, general manager.

PV industry veteran, Joachim Nell has joined power optimization specialist SolarEdge Technologies as its Central European, general manager. Most recently, Nell was a VP of Manz, responsible for its turnkey CIGS thin-film technology. Prior to joining Manz, Nell was senior VP and COO of Masdar PV.

“We expect Mr. Nell’s leadership to be paramount in leading SolarEdge’s significant growth of sales in Central Europe,” said Guy Sella, CEO of SolarEdge. "We will benefit from his 15 years of PV experience and the numerous longstanding relationships he has developed within the German and the global PV markets.”

“Europe, the world’s largest solar market, is fast to adopt distributed power harvesting solutions as the industry focuses on faster return on investment, ease of design, and PV safety,” commented Nell. “I am thrilled to join the SolarEdge team and I look forward to expanding market penetration of this revolutionary distributed power solution in Central Europe.”

At SolarEdge, Nell is being tasked with business strategy in Germany and surrounding countries as well as improving local distribution channels and support infrastructure, according to the company.
