John F. Mizroch appointed Of Counsel to Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati

Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, a legal services provider for technology, life sciences, and growth enterprises worldwide, has announced that John F. Mizroch has been appointed Of Counsel to the firm. In this position he will provide strategic regulatory counsel to clients regarding energy and environmental technology.

"With his deep and diverse government experience, John is the perfect person to deliver the type of regulatory and legislative insight our clean tech and renewable energy clients need to grow their businesses, commercialize their technologies, and take advantage of the considerable investments the government is making in their field," noted CEO John Roos. Previously Mr. Mizroch worked for the U.S. Department of Energy in the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), where he was appointed by the President as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary in 2006 and then as Acting Assistant Secretary in 2008. At EERE, which manages the federal government’s principal investments in clean technology and large-scale energy transformation for transportation, Mr. Mizroch was responsible for overseeing the agency’s programs, staff, and policies.

Prior to his work at EERE, Mr. Mizroch was president and CEO of the World Environment Center (WEC), an international non-profit organization that promotes corporate social responsibility, sustainable development, and the responsible use of natural resources. He also served as president of the Environmental Export Council, a senior advisor to the Joint Economic Committee of the U.S. Congress, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Trade Development at the International Trade Administration, and a foreign service officer with the State Department.

Mr. Mizroch obtained his J.D. from the College of William and Mary, as well as an M.A. in English literature and a B.A. in English and history from the University of Virginia.
