The project arm of German PV wholesaler Krannich Solar has agreed a 40MW development partnership with Turkey’s Basak Group.
The deal will see construction industry supplier Basak and Krannich Solar Projekt jointly develop the solar farms over the next few years beginning in early 2015. Basak also manufactures its own building materials and has a property development arm. Last year it launched BSK Energy.

Under the terms of the agreement with Krannich, it will develop PV plants over 500kW in size.
“With our know-how in the construction of solar parks and BSK’s fantastic network, we complement each other perfectly and create the best conditions for implementing successful photovoltaic projects in the Turkish market,” said Rainer Burkhardt, managing director, Krannich Solar Projekt.
After early teething problems Turkey’s solar procurement plans are gaining momentum. A feed-in tariff of US$0.133/kWh is available for projects installed before the end of the year with a top-up to US$0.20/kWh available if domestic content requirements are met. The country is aiming for a 30% share for renewable energy by 2023.
