Germany-based Krannich Solar and SolarEdge Technologies have entered into a distribution agreement relating to SolarEdge’s portfolio of products. SolarEdge is a provider of solar power optimizers and PV monitoring solutions.

Under the terms of the agreement, Krannich Solar will distribute SolarEdge’s products — including its power optimizers, PV inverters and a web portal for module-level monitoring — through its 17 branches located in 12 countries around the world.

In May, SolarEdge announced that it had shipped a record 1 million power optimizers to more than 30 countries. Moreover, it expects to have hit the 2 million mark by the end of 2012. The partnership with Krannich Solar is expected to benefit SolarEdge as it has a “strong global presence”.

“This significant and strategic opportunity with Krannich Solar will enable us to capture and increase our growing share in the global PV market.” said Zvi Lando, VP Global Sales of SolarEdge. “Building on the success of over 17 years of experience and a track record of more than 1GW worldwide installations, we are proud to have Krannich Solar become one of our leading partners.”

For manufacturers who had their heads in the bunker during 2012, fighting falling ASPs and eroding margins, the nineteenth edition brings you details of what lies in store for this coming year. Wright Williams & Kelly return in this issue with their popular analysis of payback on technology buys; crucially they analyze n-type wafers, Al2O3 passivation and copper metallization. SERIS shows us how to achieve 18.7% efficiencies using low-cost etching techniques on diffused wafers. We also have two important technology roundups: CIGS from Helmholtz Berlin, and PV module encapsulation techniques from Fraunhofer ISE.
