The first 41MW of a 400MW project in Texas has been completed, according to the developer, OCI Solar.
Alamo I is now the largest solar farm in Texas with another 4.4MW to be added in early 2014.

Power will be sold to utility CPS Energy under a 25-year power purchase agreement.
“The 400MW project resulted in the largest economic development agreement between a municipal utility and private company,” said Doyle Beneby, CEO, CPS Energy.
“The partnership will bring manufacturing, 800 permanent jobs and an annual economic impact of US$700 million to Texas,” he added.
Once completed, the 400MW project will shoot Texas up the charts for installed solar capacity.
At the end of 2012, the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) said Texas had the most untapped potential for solar in the US with the possibility of only be surpassed by California.
In November ReneSola won the contract to provide 53MW of modules to Alamo II.
Recruitment for the fourth Alamo phase is currently under way.
