LDK Solar and partner Solarif are introducing insurance for PV systems, the company has announced. LDK Solar Secure offers customers a full insurance package, including “all risk insurance”, a warranty and inherent defect insurance. The all risk insurance is for all components of PV systems while the LDK Solar power and product warranty offers cover for the PV modules.

The insurance includes coverage of all products sold on the European continent, compensation in case of production loss during warranty exchange, compensation for transportation cost for module replacements and other advantages. LDK Solar’s manufacturing process was audited by Solarif and the insurance is covered by German insurer HDI Gehrling.

Xiaofeng Peng, chairman and CEO of LDK Solar, commented:  "We're proud to be the very first PV company to introduce this innovative insurance solution setting new standards for the PV insurance industry. We believe our offer is the ultimate solution for securing investments in PV projects.  LDK Solar has extensively examined the current insurance available for the PV market and we believe, that together with Solarif, we have developed a unique insurance package."
