  • Spire appoints new personnel in financial operations

    Robert S. Lieberman and Jeffrey Chasse have been promoted to chief financial officer and treasurer, respectively, by Spire. As CFO, Lieberman will be taking the lead on the accounting and financial oversight and strategic/governance participation. Chasse will overlook the finance department and Spire’s accounting systems by monitoring and updating the systems internal controls and financial reporting procedures.

    Michael Trousseau, former chief operating officer of EDF Energies, was informed by the company’s board of directors that he would have to leave his position with the company. The departure was announced at the board’s April 15 meeting.

  • Dr. Weiming Zhang named new VP of technology at Heraeus

    Dr. Weiming Zhang (pictured left) has been selected as the new vice president of technology for the PV business unit of Heraeus Photovoltaics. His new position will see him leading and expanding an international group of scientists, engineers and technicians while also developing and implementing strategies to amplify Heraeus’ product channel, customer collaboration and market penetration.

  • Schott appoints Stephan Schaller to its board of management

    Schott’s supervisory board has appointed Stephan Schaller to its board of management effective May 1, 2010. Schaller will assume the role of vice chairman of the board of management and be responsible for several sectors including solar and architecture.

They join, Mark Wilkerson, senior account manager for US sales, and Tyroan Hardy, senior director of customer applications, as the company works its transition from an R&D to global product company.

    Yingli Green Energy has appointed Xiaoqiang Zheng as its new chief operating officer, replacing Seok Jin Lee, who has resigned to pursue other interests. Zheng has been with the company since 2000 and has held a variety of management positions.
