    Solar Frontier Americas has welcomed Gregory Ashley as the new vice president and chief operating officer for its American operations. He will oversee sales and marketing in North and South America and will be responsible for commercializing Solar Frontier’s CIS thin-film solar PV technology.

  • Trina Solar appoints new management positions

    Sean Tzou and Gary Yu have been named chief strategy officer and senior VP of operations respectively. Yu previously served as Trina Solar’s VP of manufacturing since May of 2007. He will continue management of the daily responsibilities for manufacturing and operations management and expand to include capacity expansion and supply chain management duties.

  • Dii forms advisory board for carbon-free and climate-friendly power projects

    Gathering experts from the science, political and business worlds, Dii is forming an advisory board to create the basis for generating sustainable and climate-friendly power in the deserts of North Africa and the Middle East and supplying carbon-free energy to producer nations and Europe. The board will be chaired by Professor Hans Müller-Steinhagen (pictured), director of the Institute of Technical Thermodynamics at the German Aerospace Center.

  • Calisolar adds new members to its executive team

    Calisolar has chosen John Correnti and Terry Jester as the new chairman of the board and executive VP of operations, respectively. Correnti (pictured) serves as chairman and CEO for Steel Development Co. and is the first outside director to join the company.

    Meyer Burger has appointed a new chief executive officer at its subsidiary, 3S Swiss Solar Systems, as predecessor Dr. Patrick Hofer-Noser turns his focus to his role within the company as chief technology officer and executive board member. Philippe Baur will now assume the responsibilities of this position, as of July 26.
