    Fred Schubert, a Wellfleet Senior Constellation Professor of Physics at Rensselear Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, had been chosen as the newest member of Magnolia Solar’s technical advisory board. Schubert is known as an expert in optoelectronic devices and nanostructure-based antireflection coating technology.

    Khosla Ventures has formed a partnership with Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair’s company, Tony Blair Associates. The partnership is aimed at helping Khosla’s clean technology companies maximize effectiveness in achieving environmental goals. As part of the relationship, Blair joined Vinod Khosla on May 23 to tour the Calera green cement demonstration plant in Moss Landing, Calif.

  • Dr. Horst Kayser named new CEO of 3W holdings company, AEG Power

    AEG Power Solutions, holding company of 3W, has announced that Bruce Brock, company CEO since 2005, will retire on August 1. Brock’s successor, Dr. Horst Kayser, has agreed to join the company with immediate effect and will assume the duties of CEO after the short transition period. Brock will continue to serve as a nonexecutive member of the board of directors.

    After the immediately effective resignation of CEO, president, and member of the board, Robert Pico, Opel International has appointed Leon Lee Pieral, current president of Odis as CEO and president. Pieral (pictured) has been with the company since 2001 and is also a member of the board. In addition, Opel has also increased Frank Middleton’s role as VP of marketing and COO of Opel Solar to include COO of all Opel companies.
