Major monocrystalline wafer producer Longi Silicon Materials has reported a first-half 2015 operating income of around US$264.2 million, 15.3% higher than the prior-year period.

The sales increase was partially due to its strategy to move into monocrystalline solar cell and module production as part of a strategy to support wider adoption of the high-efficiency technology. PV module revenue was said to have increase 170-fold since the prior-year period.
