Sales of equipment such as the DS 261 wire saw has seen Meyer Burger Group's sales rise to CHF800 million

On December 23, 2010, a significant milestone will be reached at the Thun headquarters of Meyer Burger Wafertec, with the Swiss equipment specialist manufacturing its 1,000th wafer slicing machine of 2010.

MB Wafertec, a subsidiary of the Meyer Burger Group, has been one of the major beneficiaries of burgeoning sales in the solar industry over the past 12 months; at the end of October, the Meyer Burger Group unveiled net FY2010 sales figures of CHF800 million – CHF70 million more than the forecasted number.

"Thanks to a high-quality logistics system and on-going capacity adjustments, we were able to meet the sharply-rising demand of the market. We owe the implementation of this major success to the enormous commitment and flexibility of our employees,” said Bernhard Gerber, MB Wafertec’s CEO.
