The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has granted MicroLink Devices US$5 million for the construction of a manufacturing plant, which will produce high-efficiency, lightweight solar cells. The program is part of the Illinois Renewable Energy Production Program that was funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
“We are thrilled with, and humbled by, this award,” said MicroLink president and CEO, Dr. Noren Pan. “It says a lot about the potential for our technology to contribute to the important role that solar energy must play in the future of the U.S.”
