Munro Distributing offers home solar without high upfront costs

Munro Distributing has partnered with Sunrun to offer homeowners an affordable way to install solar on their homes.

Through the partnership, Munro Distributing, a Massachusetts-based supplier of clean energy solutions, says it can help homeowners go solar without spending thousands of dollars to buy and maintain the panels. Sunrun owns, maintains and insures the solar panels and the homeowner pays a low, predictable monthly rate for solar electricity.

PV-Tech is told that, over time, customers can save significantly on energy costs. Plus, they know how much they will  pay for the solar electricity for the next 20 years so there are no unwelcome surprises. While utility rates rise unpredictably, Sunrun gives homeowners control and peace of mind through clean energy.

Glenn Maltais, VP Market Development and Sustainability at Munro, said: “Munro has partnered with Sunrun to offer homeowners a common-sense approach to using clean power for their homes – a step that thousands of homeowners are taking because it is practical, simple, and smart for their bank accounts.”

Maltais added: ”We take great pride in helping homeowners determine if solar power is right for their situation – and if so – we make the process simple by managing every aspect it from start-to-finish.”

Sunrun President and co-Founder Lynn Jurich commented: “We invented this model so that Americans don’t have to choose between their wallets and the planet, and it’s now preferred in the nation’s top solar markets.

“Experienced local partners like Munro help us teach homeowners of all incomes about this option and fit them with a solar system and service that meets their needs.”

Earlier this year Sunrun’s coffers were boosted by a US$200 million investment from Credit Suisse .

The investment will help support the purchase and installation of thousands of residential solar systems in the US. Sunrun noted that it installs over US$1.5 million in solar every day and has more than 26,000 customers in ten states.
