NanoGram partners with OTB on inkjet printing and other specific processes

In an effort to bring to market NanoGram Corporation’s ‘SilFoil’ technology, the firm has partnered with OTB Group BV, based in Eindhoven, The Netherlands in relation to its proprietary inkjet printing and laser technologies.

“By partnering with OTB we are integrating the expertise and proprietary technology of two companies working to speed the time-to-market of NanoGram’s SilFoil technology,” said Dr Kieran Drain, president and CEO of NanoGram Corporation. “OTB is helping us to deliver affordable, highly efficient, and reliable photovoltaic modules to the renewable energy market.”

“NanoGram’s technology can revolutionize the solar industry with a new generation of solar cells that increases efficiency and productivity and reduces costs,” said Dr Paul Breddels, CEO of OTB Group. “OTB has the process engineering know how as well as proprietary inkjet printing and laser technologies to build the equipment that effectively produces this next generation solar cell with higher efficiency at lower costs. This partnership represents a great opportunity to take solar cell production to the next level.”

A PV module pilot line is currently under construction in Milpitas, California by NanoGram and is expected to be commissioned in Q2 2009.

    Photovoltaics International 16th Edition

This sixteenth edition of Photovoltaics International marks four years of production of the quarterly journal. As always, our focus is on efficiency and quality improvement and cost reduction in manufacturing. As 2012 rolls along, companies are falling by the wayside due to supply and demand issues, ASP declines and drastic governmental subsidy cuts. A clear picture of 2012 is offered through papers from the likes of TÜV Rheinland, Fraunhofer ISE, SEMI PV Group and EPIA, amongst others.

This digital interactive Lite sees Tom Cheyney follow Agua Caliente’s progress on becoming one of first truly utility-scale PV power farms, where 40–50MW (AC) will be commissioned by the end of the year. We also feature one of the world’s largest silicon thin-film PV power plants, Avenal; a report on warnings of the collapse of module prices from Solarbuzz and PI-Berlin presents tips on PV module testing. A print version of this edition will be distributed at Solar Power International 2011 in Dallas, Texas.
