China Sunergy has won a contract to supply one of the largest solar facilities in Switzerland with its PV modules. The contract is with Swiss system integrator Sunergic, which will equip the Services Industriel de Geneve (SIG) solar facility with 1.1MW worth of Sunergy modules.

"We are very pleased to partner with Sunergic S.A. on one of the largest PV solar projects in Switzerland," said Stephen Zhifang Cai, China Sunergy’s CEO. "This partnership demonstrates our concerted efforts to explore new markets. We believe there will be more opportunities like this in the following months as a result of our strategy."

"Sunergic is excited to have won the bid for the SIG solar project again this year, although global competition continues to be very strong. Our cooperation with China Sunergy differentiates us from other companies in the space and guarantees project quality. With this partnership, we are able to remain among the leading distributors in the Swiss solar market. We look forward to working with China Sunergy on more projects in the coming years," added Sunergic's CEO, Nico Lugt.

  • Photovoltaics International 19th Edition

For manufacturers who had their heads in the bunker during 2012, fighting falling ASPs and eroding margins, the nineteenth edition brings you details of what lies in store for this coming year. Wright Williams & Kelly return in this issue with their popular analysis of payback on technology buys; crucially they analyze n-type wafers, Al2O3 passivation and copper metallization. SERIS shows us how to achieve 18.7% efficiencies using low-cost etching techniques on diffused wafers. We also have two important technology roundups: CIGS from Helmholtz Berlin, and PV module encapsulation techniques from Fraunhofer ISE.
