Order Focus: Satcon nabs biggest order yet, will supply 30.5MW of inverters to Czech firm Energy 21

In what the company calls its largest single order to date, Satcon Technology has signed a global master supply deal with Czech private power utility Energy 21 to deliver 30.5MW of its PowerGate Plus photovoltaic inverters. The Satcon units will be used in 15 solar power systems in the Czech Republic.

In addition to 33 PowerGate Plus 500KW inverters, Satcon says the order also includes 13 1MW PowerGate Plus CE inverters, four 250KW CE PowerGate Plus inverters, and more than 600 of the company's recently introduced smart subcombiners, the Satcon SSC solution.

The power stations will be owned by Energy 21, which specializes in the construction and operation of large-scale solar plants in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The utility's EPC division, CE Solar, will build and maintain the PV systems, which are scheduled for construction during the first half of 2010.

The installations qualify as part of the Czech Republic’s feed-in tariff program, which is projected to create over 500MW of grid-connected PV power plants through 2011.

The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
