Singulus Technologies has delivered its first 'Singular' in-line anti-reflection (AR) coating machine to a European manufacturer of silicon solar cells. The nanometer AR coating improves light transmission and passivation characteristics, thus increasing the energy yield of finished cells.
Singulus has also developed its own fully automated wafer handling system for the integration and connectivity of the wet chemical cleaning and etching steps. The wafer handling system is modular and automates the transfer of the silicon wafer.
The company will expand its solar initiatives along with Stangl, one of the major suppliers of wet-chemical systems for crystalline silicon solar technology and thin-film solar technology. The final aim of the company is to further strengthen its production facilities for solar cells in the coming years.
