Panasonic reported that it’s Eco Solutions segment that includes its PV module operations increased sales to around US$4.6 billion in the FY2014 third quarter, up around 10% from the same period a year ago.
The company said that all business elements within its Eco Solutions segment experienced a “demand surge” in the quarter, driven by consumer spending ahead of a planned increase in consumer tax in Japan at the beginning of April, 2014.

The Eco Solutions segment posted a profit of around US$316.1 million in the FYQ3.
Panasonic said that profits in the segment for the full-year would exceed previous guidance given in July 2013, due primarily to the domestic consumer demand surge.
