After completing and connecting the 40.5MW Jännersdorf PV plant to the grid in June, Parabel has now begun construction of a 50MW PV plant at a site approximately 10km away, the company has announced. The Jännersdorf site’s ‘sister project’ is in Krempendorf, which is part of the Jännersdorf military area. Parabel founded four companies to realize projects varying from eight to 20MW on a site of approximately 70 hectares. The company is convinced that the Marienfliess Solar Cluster, consisting of Jännersdorf and Kremendorf, will be completed with its planned 90MW and it is already looking to connect further projects totaling 80MW in the region.

“We know how demanding it will be to get this plant into operation by 30 September. However, with the implementation of Jännersdorf we have impressively demonstrated that we can construct large-scale parks in a very short space of time,” Jürgen Will, CEO of Parabel, explained. “For two of the project companies with a total of 32 MW we’re still looking for an investor, and we’re confident that we’ll be able to find one at short notice.”

  • Photovoltaics International 19th Edition

For manufacturers who had their heads in the bunker during 2012, fighting falling ASPs and eroding margins, the nineteenth edition brings you details of what lies in store for this coming year. Wright Williams & Kelly return in this issue with their popular analysis of payback on technology buys; crucially they analyze n-type wafers, Al2O3 passivation and copper metallization. SERIS shows us how to achieve 18.7% efficiencies using low-cost etching techniques on diffused wafers. We also have two important technology roundups: CIGS from Helmholtz Berlin, and PV module encapsulation techniques from Fraunhofer ISE.
