Pattern nears completion of 122MW solar project in Chile

Pattern Energy Group’s 122MW solar PV project in the Antofogasta region of Chile will be ready to begin operations in Q1 of this year, according the Ministry of National Resources.

As one of the largest plants in Latin America, the US$205 million Rabbit solar PV project, near Taltal in the Atacama Desert, will connect to the Central Interconnected System (SIC) grid via a 15km transmission line and will supply energy to the equivalent of 200,000 households

Victor Osorio, minister of natural resources, said: “We have allocated more than 50,000 hectares of land property tax for projects that together reach the projected generation of 8,435MW per year.”
