Petra Solar employs Omnify Software’s PLM package to aid in engineering management

  • The Empower product will be used to automate Petra Solar’s processes such as document control, engineering adjustments, compliance and bill of material (BOM) management.

Product lifecycle management (PLM) software provider Omnify Software has gained a new customer in the form of Petra Solar, which has purchased the former’s Empower PLM solution. The Empower product will be used to automate Petra Solar’s processes such as document control, engineering adjustments, compliance and bill of material (BOM) management.

Petra Solar was said to have reported time savings of approximately 74% by applying the software to its engineering change order (ECO) cycles. Design changes implemented during a product’s lifespan utilise the Empower PLM system to track those processes that were once manual.

“We chose Omnify Software for its value in terms of quality, capabilities, ease of use and scalable licensing model,” said Stephen Gillespie, Petra Solar’s program manager. “The user interface is easy for our staff to understand and is very user friendly, making for a smooth adoption. Also, as Petra Solar continues to grow as a company, the scalability of Empower PLM will support any future expansion.”
