Powerway South Africa has been registered, with premises secured and awaiting the delivery of its first production machines.

In June, Powerway, a solar mountings solution supplier, set up its first 500MW facility for PV mounting systems in Kimberly, South Africa. The company has now established a South African subsidiary, it has been announced. Powerway South Africa has been registered, with premises secured and awaiting the delivery of its first production machines.

Powerway South Africa is now in the process of applying for SABS Certification and will also participate in the Proudly South African Campaign – a government initiative to create sustainable jobs and to support the growth of local commerce.

“To achieve local content targets will not be easily achievable in South Africa, but we firmly believe we should set an example,” said Marubini Raphulu, director of Powerway SA at the recent PV Project Development Summit. “We have developed three customized systems, specifically for South African conditions.

“Our Rooftop and Ground Project products include systems such as our PowerScrew, PowerFit and PowerTracker models. All these system comes with local content ofno less than 85%,” continued Raphulu.
