Two and a half months after starting construction, Gehrlicher Solar advised that it has completed its Perleberg solar park, located between Hamburg and Berlin. The system holds a 35MWp nominal capacity and is anticipated to generate nearly 33 million kWh of power per year. The company noted that because of the solar park’s high capacity, it also built a separate expandable 110kV transformer station, which connected the solar installation to the grid on August 23.

“We are especially grateful to the policy makers at the City of Perleberg and District of Prignitz as well as the authorities in charge, such as the Perleberg building authority. In addition, we would also like to thank the two former property owners, the Brandenburg Land Association for Land Use and Management (Brandenburgische Boden Gesellschaft für Grundstücksverwaltung und -verwertung mbH (BBG)) and the Federal Agency for Real Estate Management (Bundesanstalt für Immobilienaufgaben (BImA)), as well as the Aero-Club Perleberg for their excellent cooperation at all times”, commented Klaus Gehrlicher, CEO of Gehrlicher Solar AG.

The Perleberg solar park was built across 90 hectares on the site of a former military airport. Yingli supplied 144,144 of its modules, while 39 inverters were delivered by SMA. City and district officials plan to hold an official dedication ceremony for the project in mid-October.
