The Japanese Ministry of Economy has announced that Japan installed 1,398MW since April last year.

A committee was convened to consider possible changes to the current feed-in tariff for PV installations. The current rate of ¥42 (US$0.525) per kWh will end with the closing fiscal year.

The government document states that project proposals with a combined capacity of 3,262MW have already been submitted.

Furthermore, the government expects a total of 2GW of newly installed PV capacity for the fiscal year of 2012.
