Project Focus: Iberdrola Ingeniería wins €27 million contract for 8MW power plant

Puglia, south-east Italy is the site for the new solar power plant that is to be constructed by Iberdrola Ingeniería y Construcción following the company’s successful bid for the title of developer for the project. The 8MW facility will cost in the region of €27 million, which is being financed by Unicredit Mediocredito Centrale and commissioned by Pugliasolar.

The plant will consist of eight 1 MW modules and will come on stream in two phases. An initial 6MW installation is scheduled for completion before summer, while the remainder will be completed at the end of the summer.

Iberdrola Ingeniería y Construcción had a project pipeline worth over €2.5 billion at the end of 2009.
