Project Focus: Siliken to build 9.8MW solar power plant in Rome

Siliken, the Spanish renewable energy company, has entered into an agreement with Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) to set up a 9.8MW power solar photovoltaics plant in the Italian city of Fiumicino, Rome. Once complete this will be the largest PV installation in the region and one of the biggest in Italy.

The company will be delivering the 9.8MW installation as a turnkey project and will be responsible for the maintenance of the plant. The project will consist of 40,000 Siliken SLK60P6L modules of 225 and 230Wp, producing an annual capacity of 14GWh, which will be fed back into the grid.

Siliken will also implement its piled structure and proprietary monitoring system for continuous monitoring of the system. Building will start in April for completion in September or October 2010.

    Photovoltaics International 16th Edition

This sixteenth edition of Photovoltaics International marks four years of production of the quarterly journal. As always, our focus is on efficiency and quality improvement and cost reduction in manufacturing. As 2012 rolls along, companies are falling by the wayside due to supply and demand issues, ASP declines and drastic governmental subsidy cuts. A clear picture of 2012 is offered through papers from the likes of TÜV Rheinland, Fraunhofer ISE, SEMI PV Group and EPIA, amongst others.
