The PV cell and module manufacturing operations of Dutch firm Pufin Power are to increase their production capacity after securing a supply deal with French distributor Thomson Energy.
Pufin said the deal would allow the company to increase capacity of its three manufacturing subsidiaries, Solland Solar Cells, Elifrance and El.Ital, by around 50%.

Solland Solar Cells is expected to ramp its production of polycrystalline cells from 100 to 150MW a year.
Meanwhile, Pufin’s module manufacturing arms El.Ital and Elifrance are expected to increase their capacity to 70MW and 40MW respectively; currently their combined capacity is 70MW annually.
Pufin Power did not disclose further details of the deal with Thomson, but said it allowed the company to press ahead with planned increases to its production capacity.
Massimo Pugliese, CEO of Pufin Power Group, said: “Our ‘Made in Europe’ photovoltaic products have been awarded against the unfair competition represented by Chinese products, thanks to the long-awaited and far-sighted anti-dumping policy carried out by the European Union.”
Last year Pufin announced a tie-up with industry group Eurener to fill any gap left by Chinese manufacturers in Europe following the price undertaking between the EU and China.
