REC sells Swedish module plant to Perfekta Solar

Having previously announced the closure of its 150MW c-Si module assembly plant in Glava, Sweden, which REC wound-down at the end of 2010, the facility and most of the equipment has been sold to Perfekta Solar AB for approximately US$7 million (SEK 47 million).

The plant had been running at close to full capacity but due to its isolated position from other facilities within the REC group, it had struggled to be profitable, according to the company in September last year when the closure was announced.
