SEMI names Jonathan Davis new North America president

SEMI has named a long-time employee as its new president of SEMI North America, appointing Jonathan Davis to succeed Victoria Hadfield, effective Jan. 1, 2009. Davis will assume responsibility for the group's North American programs, products, and services and will be responsible for relationships with SEMI members as well as industry, government, and academia in the region. Hadfield moves on to pursue personal interests but will remain with the trade association in an advisory role.

"Jonathan has been an integral part of the SEMI global executive staff, and I am very pleased that he will take on the additional responsibilities of leading our activities in SEMI North America," said Stan Myers, president/CEO of SEMI. "With his in-depth knowledge of the association, experience and industry relationships, Jonathan will be an asset in serving SEMI member interests in North America."

Myers also recognized Hadfield's long tenure at the organization. "We commend Vicki for over two decades of service, building a strong public policy and government relations function at SEMI, and managing our activities in North America. I respect her decision to spend more time with her family, and am pleased that she will continue to assist me as a trusted adviser."

Davis, who joined the association in 1992, has served in numerous roles, most recently as executive vice president of global expositions, marketing, communications, market research, and environment, health, and safety (EHS).  In his new role, he will oversee the operations of SEMI North America and will assist members from all regions that hold interests in the North American market for technology equipment and materials to manufacture semiconductors, photovoltaics, displays, and related electronic products.

Before joining SEMI, Davis worked at HNTB, a national architecture and engineering firm.  He holds a degree from the Kansas State University College of Architecture and Design, and he studied
at the University of Missouri School Of Journalism. Davis is a member of the American Society of Association Executives and the Public Relations Society of America.

SEMI has yet to announce a replacement for Davis as executive VP.
