SEMI welcomes Suntech CEO and Q-Cells COO to board of directors

Zhengrong Shi, founder, chairman and CEO of Suntech Power, and Gerhard Rauter, COO and member of the executive board of Q-Cells, have agreed to join SEMI's international board of directors.

Both Shi and Rauter are the first PV solar manufacturers on the SEMI board; Shi is also the first member to join the board from China.

These additions make the SEMI PV Group a more representative organization able to achieve milestones in the world's adoption of solar energy.  SEMI said, "In combination with our regional advisory boards, they will give us the insight and expertise necessary to best serve our member interests and advance solar energy adoption throughout the world."
