Seminole Financial Services advised that so far this year it has already financed more renewable installations than it did in the full 2011 year. The company recently closed financing on three renewable energy projects, all in California, this past week, including a solar ground-mounted project at a waste water reclamation plant. Together the one solar and two wind projects represent 7MW of renewable power.

So far this year Seminole has provided financing for 32 projects, which total 67MW of solar and wind installations. The company mainly focuses on projects between US$2 million and US$30 million and has provided projects for Walmart, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Safeway and Anheuser-Busch.

For manufacturers who had their heads in the bunker during 2012, fighting falling ASPs and eroding margins, the nineteenth edition brings you details of what lies in store for this coming year. Wright Williams & Kelly return in this issue with their popular analysis of payback on technology buys; crucially they analyze n-type wafers, Al2O3 passivation and copper metallization. SERIS shows us how to achieve 18.7% efficiencies using low-cost etching techniques on diffused wafers. We also have two important technology roundups: CIGS from Helmholtz Berlin, and PV module encapsulation techniques from Fraunhofer ISE.

  • Manufacturing The Solar Future: The 2013 Production Annual
