SMA appoints Rolf Merte as executive VP of technology development

Effective April 1, 2012, Dr. Rolf Merte has been appointed executive VP of technology development division of the medium power solutions of SMA Solar Technology. He will be responsible for the development of electronic automotive power for high temperature applications.

Dr. Merte was VP of research and development at HÜTTINGER Elektronik since 2007. He also has an extensive network in the international arena and in-depth experience in managing international development units. His main role was to industrially engineer cost-effective mass production of automotives and manage methodologies and development processes.

Last month, SMA reported €1.7 billion in sales for 2011.
