Solar Semiconductor gains ISO 9001 certification on module range

Solar Semiconductor has received ISO 9001 certification on its range of PV modules, which includes 125mm and 156mm mono- and multi-crystalline cells that are sub 180 microns thick, as well as cells with two or three bus bars.

TUV Rheinland conducted the audit of the company's product manufacturing, vendor management, quality standards, record maintenance, corrective action, and management commitment to ensure the overall quality of Solar Semiconductor's product and manufacturing process prior to granting the certification.

"Receiving the ISO 9001 certification in such a short span of time since starting our manufacturing is a huge achievement for us because it validates all the time, effort and money we have put into building a top-quality manufacturing plant," said Hari Surapaneni (pictured), Chief Executive Officer of Solar Semiconductor.

Solar Semiconductor was established in 2006 in Hyderabad, India.

    Photovoltaics International 16th Edition

This sixteenth edition of Photovoltaics International marks four years of production of the quarterly journal. As always, our focus is on efficiency and quality improvement and cost reduction in manufacturing. As 2012 rolls along, companies are falling by the wayside due to supply and demand issues, ASP declines and drastic governmental subsidy cuts. A clear picture of 2012 is offered through papers from the likes of TÜV Rheinland, Fraunhofer ISE, SEMI PV Group and EPIA, amongst others.
