SolarEdge opens new European office based in Germany

SolarEdge, the solar power harvesting provider, has opened a new European office located in Dresden, Germany. The company's new office will provide sales and technical support for solar power harvesting and monitoring systems.

"Germany has long played a pioneering role in the development of the European solar industry and has been an early adopter of SolarEdge's breakthrough power harvesting technology. It is a natural fit for SolarEdge to open our European headquarters within the world's largest PV market," said Zvi Lando, vice president of sales at SolarEdge. "This location will allow us to quickly and thoroughly execute an aggressive distribution strategy with dedicated support for customers and partners in key markets like Germany and throughout Europe--areas that are quickly realizing the dramatic potential to maximize power generation of PV sites with SolarEdge, while reducing costs and complexities."

Among these partnerships are strategic alliances for SolarEdge with Germany's Schott and Gehrlicher as well as the recently announced HaWi Energietechnik. SolarEdge's distributed power harvesting and monitoring system tackles common solar performance problems, such as lost electricity production from partial shading and other glitches in the electronic equipment that transports power between the panels.

HaWi Energietechnik, solar power system planning and distribution company and SolarEdge announced at the same time as the new office opening, a strategic partnership in which HaWi will offer the SolarEdge innovative power harvesting solution to its customers. HaWi is headquartered in Germany, and has additional offices in Italy, Spain, France, Greece and soon Israel.

The announcement follows over six months of cooperation during which the SolarEdge solution was tested by HaWi in comparison to traditional inverters, under a variety of real-life conditions.
