Solibro officially transferred to Hanergy

The sales of Solibro to Chinese Hanergy Holding Group, has officially been successfully concluded by Schorisch, from law firm hww wienberg wilhelm, Q-Cells SE’s insolvency administrator. The companies assured that all of the just under 400 jobs are to be maintained.

Hanergy has acquired the two European Solibro locations in Bitterfeld-Wolfen (approx. 370 employees) and Uppsala, Sweden (approx. 30 employees). Hanergy intends to develop Solibro’s thin-film technology as well as increase the company’s production to 100MW per year to serve the group’s European customers over the 25 years.

Financial details are yet to be disclosed.

In August, Q-Cells creditors approved its sale of business operations to the Hanwha Group. Q-Cells Bitterfeld-Wolfen administration site in Berlin, a production site in Malaysia and some international sales companies were included in the transaction.
