Germany’s K2 Systems has launched its newest global arm; a US division known as Everest Solar Systems, which is based in Oceanside, California. K2 noted that its expansion stems from its confidence that the commercial and residential solar markets will grow and, therefore, require its racking technology.

Katharina David, K2 Systems Group CEO stated that “we are very excited to pursue our long-term strategy of growing internationally, and diversifying into new markets. We see very large potential in the US market, and are investing aggressively to position us in this very important market.”

Everest Solar Systems opened its office in August at a 24,000 sq. ft. facility in the Ocean Ranch Business Park. It expects to begin shipping from its new site this month. The company also plans on introducing four products for the residential and commercial markets during SPI 2012 in Orlando.

Boris Mathiszik, Everest Solar Systems CEO, commented “It is clearly a sign of our confidence in the projected growth of the US market that we are making this major investment.  Our innovative mounting solutions dramatically reduce component count and simplify system installation enabling system integrators to drive down the cost of solar energy. This reduction in cost is exactly what the US solar industry needs at this critical juncture.  We are extremely excited to contribute to great new career opportunities for people passionate about manufacturing, engineering, sales, marketing and service jobs in the sustainable energy sector in San Diego, and throughout the US.”
