Major PV inverter firm, Sungrow Power Supply has teamed with SUMEC New Energy Development Co on distributed PV projects in China totalling 68MW.
The companies have previously partnered on a number of large ground-mounted utility-scale PV projects over the last three years.

Sungrow and SUMEC plan to build the commercial-scale rooftop projects in Hefei, Anhui Province. A JV company, Hefei Sunshine Power Co., Ltd. Su Metroplex has been formed to undertake the projects with SUMEC having an 85% shareholding and Sungrow a 15% stake.
Construction was said to begin on the first phase in April 2014 with a total cost of around US$106 million.
The Chinese government has officially stated that it plans 14GW of PV installations in 2014, with a target of 8GW of distributed PV and 6GW of utility-scale solar being supported across provinces with feed-in tariffs.
The Anhui Province has been given a 300MW quota for distributed PV projects in 2014.
