Former head of European operations at Suntech, David Hogg will resign from the company, effective January 21, 2012, for personal reasons, according to a very brief statement, filed with the SEC in the US. Hogg had been Suntech’s chief operating officer since 2010.

An Australian, having graduated from UNSW in 1982 with an honours degree in mechanical engineering, Hogg was a founding member of the management board of CSG Solar, AG, a German solar company commercializing crystalline silicon on glass thin-film PV technology, acquired by Suntech.

No replacement is expected as Suntech said that his duties would be allocated across other executives duties within the company.

A clear picture of 2012 is offered through papers from the likes of TÜV Rheinland, Fraunhofer ISE, SEMI PV Group and EPIA, amongst others.
