However, the key product would be its new 1,500V high system voltage module that will be on display at SPI but is expected to be commercially launched in October 2015.

Suntech claimed that the new 1,500V modules achieved a 3-4% reduction in balance of system costs compared to 1,000V modules, due to reduced component required and were lighter in weight compared to traditional double glass modules.

The SuperPoly modules were said to incorporate an in-depth reflection technology and passivation process, pushing module performance higher by around 10W.

In the commercial and utility-scale 72-cell module format, the SuperPoly modules were said achieve 325W at peak performance.

Suntech also highlighted that its entire solar panel production capacity, which was around 2.2GW in 2014, according to PV Tech’s analysis had also been upgraded to four busbar technology that improves cell to module conversion efficiencies.

Shunfeng recently acquired a majority shareholding in US-based PV manufacturer Suniva and announced at 200MW capacity expansion to 400MW to further support its re-entry into the US market, which according to the latest GTM/SEIA figures is forecasted to reach 7.7GW in 2015, up 24% from 2014.
