Thomas Gutiérrez joins Veeco Instruments’ board of directors

Thomas Gutiérrez has held management positions at GT Solar, Xerium Technologies and Invensys Power Systems

Veeco Instruments has appointed Thomas Gutiérrez to its board of directors. Gutiérrez, 62, is currently GT Solar's president, director and CEO, a role he has held since 2009.

John R. Peeler, Veeco's CEO, said, "Tom brings a broad, global technology background to Veeco's board that includes experience in multi-national organizations and clean technology. We are excited to have Tom join our board and believe he will quickly become a valued advisor and partner in Veeco's future growth."

Prior to joining GT Solar, Gutiérrez, a graduate in Electrical Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology, held management positions at Xerium Technologies and Invensys Power Systems.
