Singulus Technologies said it was the supplier of three selenization tools, believed to be its CISARIS system are being used at the recently opened Avancis CIS thin-film production plant in Saxony, Germany for CIGSSe absorber formation. Technical acceptance of the tools had taken place in November 2011, according to the equipment supplier, as well as earning itself an award from Avancis as one of the three best suppliers for on-time delivery as well as fast commissioning.

“We are pleased to receive the award as a supplier and will certainly also attempt to meet this standard with the delivery of further selenization machines to the FAB 2,” noted Dr.-Ing. Stefan Rinck, CEO of Singulus Technologies.

The Fab 2 plant is expected to reach an annual capacity of over 800,000 high-performance CIS modules at the 100MW facility. Avancis has achieved an aperture area efficiency of 15.8% on its fully-encapsulated and framed Champion module that has been verified by TÜV Rhineland.
