Trina Solar appoints new executives

Trina Solar has announced the appointments of new executives in the company. Dr. Suping Chen has been named VP of Manufacturing, East Campus, Dr. Qiang Huang is VP of Technology and Steven (Yu) Zhu is VP of International Procurement and Business Development.

Dr. Chen brings more than 12 years of IT manufacturing experience in China to Trina Solar. He was previously with Samsung Electronics Semiconductor Co., Ltd. and Seagate Technology International Co., Ltd., where he worked for over seven years as a Senior Product Manger and Operations Director. In 2006 Chen founded his own management consulting company.

Dr. Huang is replacing Ting Cheong Ang, who was the former VP of Technology Development. Huang was previously the Director of Manufacturing Engineering for the company and before Trina Solar he was an Engineering Manager with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. and Senior Manger of Device Integration at ST Microelectronics in Singapore. Huang brings over eight years of commercial operations experience in semiconductor engineering development and engineering problem solving to his new position.

Finally, Steven Zhu has filled the VP of International Procurement and Business Development seat that was left open when Andrew Klump departed from the position. Zhu joined Trina Solar in 2005 after having previously been with IBM in the U.S. for four years as a global training leader and software engineer. He also founded and served as President of a wireless internet company between 2002 and 2005.
