Valos Solar Ventures continue to tie up the loose ends for its 20MW SKIC Solar 1 project; most recently with the signing of a 20-year PPA with Pacific Gas & Electric. The solar project, located near Bakersfield, California, is expected to receive approval from the California Public Utility Commission in October, with construction starting no later than August 2013.

According to the terms of the PPA, SKIC Solar 1, which has recruited Gehrlicher Solar America as the EPC contractor, will begin selling its produced power into the California market by April 2014. Valos COO Lori Cuervo stated, “Our SKIC Solar 1 project has already received its conditional use permit, and we anticipate our interconnection agreement with PG&E to be signed by November. We are pleased that interconnection costs on this project are relatively low compared to other areas in the state.”
