Westinghouse Solar has expanded its board of director to eight members with the recently announced addition of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Mark Kalow. Kennedy is chief prosecuting attorney for Hudson Riverkeeper, president of Waterkeeper Alliance, clinical professor and supervising attorney at Pace University’s School of Law’s Environmental Litigation Clinic and venture partner in and senior advisor to VantagePoint Capital Partners.
Kennedy is a graduate of Harvard University, studied at the London School of Economics and earned his law degree from the University of Virginia. He additionally received his Master’s degree in Environmental law from Pace University.
"We all know that solar power is healthier, safer, and in many states cheaper in the intermediate and long-term than conventional sources of electricity which squander nonrenewable resources and pollute our air, water, and soil," Kennedy notes. "With the plummeting costs of solar panels globally, we have yet another opportunity to easily increase our energy security while also creating domestic jobs. Kalow is managing director of Soquel Group and sits on the board of directors for Rope Partner, LSF Network, Propell Corporation, Dogfish Software and Pure Depth. In the past he served on the board for Photoworks and was CEO of Live Picture. He received his BS degree in management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his MBA, with a concentration in financial management, from the University of Chicago.
