Work to begin on new SolarMax HQ

US installer SolarMax has announced plans to begin work on its new headquarters in Riverside, California.

A ground breaking ceremony on November 5 will mark the launch of the project, which will see the incorporation of a solar roof into a refurbished historic warehouse building.

The move is expected to create 1,600 jobs directly and indirectly, the company said.

SolarMax has also announced that it will establish a US$200,000 Endowed Graduate Fellowship Fund for the University of California Riverside, which is also located on the site.

The company plans to occupy the 15,300 sq metre building by the end of the year.
